These terms govern your use of the Zimma mobile application and the zimma.app website. By using Zimma, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
The service
Zimma is a personal finance management app that helps you track expenses and income, manage accounts and assets, calculate Zakat obligations, and organize income data for FBR tax filing. The app is designed for personal, non-commercial use.
Your account
You may need to create an account to use cloud features. When you do:
- You must provide accurate information
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (users under 18 need parental or guardian consent)
You can use Zimma's core features entirely offline without creating an account. An account is only required for cloud backup and device migration.
Early access
Zimma is currently in early access. During this period:
- The service is provided free of charge
- Features may change, be added, or be removed as we develop the product
- We may experience occasional downtime or bugs
- When we introduce paid plans in the future, early access members will receive preferential pricing
We will give reasonable notice before introducing any paid features or changing the terms of early access.
Your data
You own your financial data. Zimma does not claim any ownership or rights over the data you enter into the app.
- Local storage. Your data is stored on your device first. You are responsible for device backups if you choose not to use cloud sync.
- Cloud backup. If enabled, your data is synced to our servers for backup and device migration. See our Privacy Policy for details on how cloud data is handled.
- Deletion. You can delete your account and all cloud data at any time. Local data is removed when you uninstall the app.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Zimma for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Use automated tools to scrape or interact with the service
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to Zimma
Financial information disclaimer
Zimma is a financial tracking and organization tool. It is not a licensed financial advisor, tax consultant, or accounting service. The information provided by Zimma, including Zakat calculations and FBR tax data, is for informational and organizational purposes only.
Specifically:
- Zakat calculations are based on the data you enter and publicly available gold/silver prices. Zimma provides a computed estimate. For religious rulings on specific Zakat questions, consult a qualified Islamic scholar.
- Tax data is organized based on FBR tax slabs and categories. Zimma does not file taxes on your behalf and does not guarantee the accuracy of tax calculations. Always verify with a tax professional or directly with FBR before filing.
- Gold and silver prices are fetched from third-party sources and may be delayed. They should not be used for trading decisions.
You are responsible for verifying any financial calculations or data before acting on them.
Intellectual property
The Zimma name, logo, design, and code are the property of Zimma App. You may not use our branding without written permission. The content you create within the app (your financial data) remains yours.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep Zimma available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may:
- Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
- Update the app to fix bugs, improve performance, or add features
- Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
Because Zimma is offline-first, most features continue to work even when our servers are unavailable.
Disclaimer of warranties
Zimma is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Pakistani law:
- We are not liable for any financial decisions you make based on data shown in the app
- We are not liable for data loss on your device (use cloud backup to protect against this)
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Zimma
- Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which is zero during early access)
Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless Zimma App from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the service.
Termination
You can stop using Zimma at any time by deleting your account or uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where practical.
Upon termination, your cloud data will be deleted. Your local data remains on your device until you uninstall the app.
Dispute resolution
If you have a concern or dispute, please contact us first at legal@zimma.app. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve the issue within 30 days. If we cannot resolve it informally, the dispute will be handled through the courts of Pakistan.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Zimma evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
Entire agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Zimma App regarding your use of the service.
